One of the most high-profile events was a massive installation drive organised by Tencent Holdings at its Shenzhen headquarters, which saw nearly 1,000 people, young and old, queuing for a taste of the lobster. Meanwhile, an entire cottage industry of OpenClaw installation services has seemingly emerged overnight, with fees ranging from the tens of yuan to hundreds of yuan.
Top Chinese AI start-ups including Zhipu AI, Moonshot AI and MiniMax have also announced integration with OpenClaw, as they try to make their respective models the one people choose during this period of heightened curiosity and adoption of AI productivity tools. #🇨🇳 ChinA.I. 🤖🧠🦾🤖
The developments come soon after Premier Li Qiang made AI agents a focus of the government’s annual work report for the first time, stressing its importance as China looks to integrate AI into 90 per cent of its economy by 2030.
There are already signs that China is leading the charge in global adoption of OpenClaw, which has been described by Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang as “the most important software release probably ever”.
According to Zhou Hongyi, co-founder and chairman of Chinese cybersecurity giant 360 Security Technology, more than 40 per cent of the world’s nearly 150,000 OpenClaw-related assets are already in China.
